Susan Williams Named to Head Southeast Research and Extension Center
LINCOLN, Neb. — A longtime University of Nebraska-Lincoln Extension educator has been named director of the university's Southeast Research and Extension Center.
Susan Williams, who's been serving in the position on an interim basis, is now the permanent director.
The Lincoln-based center's district comprises 28 counties, including the Lincoln and Omaha areas.
Williams, an extension educator for 18 years, has led extension's Sustainable Families Action Team, which received the 2001 Team Award from the university's Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources. She also received the university's Distinguished Educational Service Award in 2000.
Williams has a master's degree in school administration from Kansas State University and a doctorate in human sciences with emphasis in leadership studies from UNL. Before joining UNL, she was in public schools administration for 11 years.
The Southeast Research and Extension District is one of four regional districts in Nebraska that serve as hubs for research and outreach for IANR.
