UNL Policy Specialist to Discuss Election Impact on Agriculture
LINCOLN, Neb. — A University of Nebraska-Lincoln public policy specialist will address the changes in farm programs and policies, including the impact of the presidential race on agriculture.
Brad Lubben will speak at an event sponsored by the Midlands chapter of the National Agri-Marketing Association Sept. 23. Lubben will join Omaha lawyer David Bracht of Husch Blackwell Sanders for the event at the Nebraska State Capitol's Warner Legislative Chamber.
The agricultural policy presentation will include changes the industry might see as a result of the race between Republican John McCain and Democrat Barack Obama.
Lubben said he will focus his presentation on the new farm bill and how it will affect the agricultural sector, particularly after a new administration takes office.
"The election will have an impact on how the bill is implemented," Lubben said.
The event is scheduled from 3 to 5 p.m. and costs $15 for NAMA members and $20 for non-members. To register, contact Steve Johnson atstevej@swansonrussell.com by Sept. 18.
