'Control Diabetes for Life' to Air this Month on NET
LINCOLN, Neb. "Control Diabetes for Life," a program by University of Nebraska-Lincoln Extension, will be featured on Nebraska Educational Television throughout the month of January.
The program is scheduled to air on NET2 Jan. 14 at 7 p.m., Jan. 17 at 1 p.m., Jan. 28 at 7:30 p.m. and on Jan. 31 at 1:30 p.m. (CST).
The program provides research-based information to help people with diabetes make appropriate food choices to better manage the disease.
Presenters include Debra Schroeder, extension educator, Stacie Petersen, degreed registered nurse and certified diabetes educator with Franciscan Care Services, and Mary Clare Stalp, registered dietician and licensed medical nutritional therapist with Franciscan.
Topics addressed in the NET program include:
– Drinking and Diabetes: Should You or Shouldn't You?
– Recipe Makeovers: Five Ways to Create Healthy Recipes
– A New Year, a New Start
Control Diabetes for Life is a joint project of UNL Extension and Franciscan Care Services of West Point. The program can also be viewed online at WebVideo.unl.edu.
Extension is part of UNL's Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources.
