The University Libraries invites the campus to attend the Realities of Academic Data Sharing (RADS) initiative’s report on the results of their study. The morning-long event on October 1 will feature four hybrid sessions starting at 8:45 a.m. in the City Campus Union. Since 2024, UNL has participated in the RADS initiative, a study examining how researchers at twelve institutions (e.g., University of Nebraska-Lincoln, Johns Hopkins University, Duke University, University of Minnesota) manage and share their data and how campus units, like libraries and information technology offices, support that work.
The day will include a walkthrough of UNL-specific findings, an overview of the broader project and its results, and benchmarking and peer comparisons. It is also an opportunity to connect with colleagues across campus (the library, research administration, IT, and other units) who share an interest in this work and to begin discussing where UNL services and support might grow.
Over the last year, investigators surveyed funded researchers and interviewed administrators involved in data management and data sharing support activities. The study has now reached the point of results, and members of the RADS team, along with local co-PI Leslie Delserone will be on campus to present the findings.
