Staff Leadership Academy deadline extended to July 24

The application deadline for the relaunched Staff Leadership Academy has been extended to July 24. The extension gives interested staff leaders additional time to coordinate with supervisors to complete the application process.

Led by Organizational Development and Training, the academy is the university’s cohort-based leadership development program designed for staff in organizational leadership roles.

Program at a glance

Target audience: Full-time University of Nebraska–Lincoln staff at the assistant director level or higher or aspiring leaders.

Cohort size: 20 to 25 participants selected from across the university.

Schedule: Eight full-day sessions, meeting one Friday per month from September through March.

Topics: Strategic planning, change management, design thinking and innovation, organizational communication, data and program assessment, and succession planning.

Key feature: Participants will build cross-campus networks and develop a strategic project proposal addressing a real university challenge.

Cost: Offered at no cost to participants, thanks to funding support from Business and Finance and Human Resources.

Requirements: Application requires a reflection on leadership goals, direct supervisor approval and one recommender.
