Major: Animal Science

Anticipated Date of Graduation: May 2023

Why did you decide to come to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln?

I decided to come to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln because it has an outstanding agricultural program, and I knew I would get the experiences and opportunities I wanted from going there.

What is your favorite thing about the University of Nebraska-Lincoln

My favorite thing about the University of Nebraska- Lincoln is the opportunities you get. There are so many different clubs, volunteer opportunities, and work experiences.

What about diversity and inclusion? Is it necessary to you when you think about your CASNR experience?

I think diversity and inclusion are necessary as I relate them back to my CASNR experience. You get to work with different people who all have different ways of thinking.

Exposure to cultural differences is a huge part of college. What activity have you recently participated in that is different from what you are used to in your culture? This could be something you read, listened to, watched, eaten or otherwise taken part in. What did you learn from this activity?

I have recently participated in the NCBA conference in New Orleans, Louisiana. At this conference, I got to attend policy meetings that pertained to the beef industry. One of the meetings I sat in on was an international trade meeting, where a leader from Australia came and talked about the beef industry in this country.

What is your favorite class you have taken so far and why?

My favorite class I have taken so far is ASCI 340 with Dr. Yates. Dr. Yates challenged us in this course but made it a fun learning experience. The lab was also very hands-on and a great learning experience.

What are your plans post-graduation?

After graduation, I am attending the Professional Program of Veterinary Medicine or two-plus-two program with the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and Iowa State University.

What's life like outside of school?

When I am not in school, I am working two part-time jobs with Antelope Creek Veterinary Healthcare Center and tutoring at the University. I also love attending athletic events, spending time with friends and family, and being outdoors.

What scholarships, if any, have you received?

Buffet Scholarship, Husker Power Scholarship, Hazel V. Emley Scholarship, Sam/Martha McKelvie Scholarship, Will and Hazel Loeffel Scholarship, Walter and Alice Rockwell Scholarship, Charles Stuart Scholarship, Animal Science Scholarship, M.E. Boeckenhaur Mem. Schoalrship, William and Sandra Condon Scholarship
