The five-day workshop will include a mix of classroom learning and field work that will provide participants solar installation techniques including where to place the panels to get the best sun angles. Basics of electricity, measuring, tools and safety will be involved. The workshop will culminate with participants installing a residential solar array.

"Recent years have seen a rapid decline in the price of solar panels," said Nebraska Extension educator John Hay. "This, combined with tax credit incentives, has greatly improved the economics of solar PV systems for people who are interested in renewable energy."

The cost to attend the workshop is $450. Registration and payment is due by Sept. 18.

To register, contact Amber Patterson at 402-472-1646, apaterson6@unl.edu, or John Hay at 402-472-0408, jhay2@unl.edu.
