Spangler named recipient of Outstanding Employee Award
Mark Balschweid, head of the Agricultural Leadership, Education and Communication Department presents the fourth quarter Outstanding Employee Award to Roddy Spangler.

Roddy Spangler, office associate in the Agricultural Leadership, Education and Communication Department, has been named a recipient of the 2015 Fourth Quarter Outstanding Employee Award from the Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources.

In her day-to-day role Spangler provides administrative support regarding financial budget issues to the ALEC Department. She prepares monthly financial reports, schedules meetings, coordinates travel arrangements, assists faculty with research budgets among other duties.

In 2013 Spangler volunteered to participate in ALEC’s professional development series entitled Effective Personal Productivity. This 10-week intensive training helped her identify personal and professional areas she wanted to improve in, set realistic goals to achieve results, and track her progress towards improvement. As a result, Spangler increased her productivity in day-to-day tasks beyond her previous efforts.

Supporters wrote that Spangler is diligent in looking out for the department’s best interests. She does it all with respect for the system, the university’s purchasing rules, and the individual.

Spangler will receive a cash award, certificate and lapel pin.
