Why did you decide to come to UNL?
Growing up in Nebraska all you hear about is Husker football. Before I took a campus visit that was really all I knew about the University. My first and only campus visit I was able to meet with East Campus faculty. Seeing that East Campus was a community and how much faculty really cared was a big part of my decision to come here.

What is your favorite thing about UNL?
East Campus is my favorite thing about UNL. It has a great small college atmosphere. I know a majority of the students, faculty and staff on East Campus and there is always a warm smile greeting you as you walk across campus, down the hallways to classes, at club meetings and in classrooms. East Campus provides great opportunities to network with industry professionals through classroom lectures and at fall and spring career fairs.

What is your favorite class and why?
AECN 201- Farm and Ranch Management with Dr. Hanson. This was a very challenging class but it really is the stepping stone to understanding the upper level marketing classes.  It forces you to understand base level record keeping, rather than letting you use a computer to make sure your operation is liquid.

What are your plans following graduation?
I plan to work as a sales representative for Helena Chemical Company. I have done internships the past two summers with Helena, and I am looking forward to this exciting career opportunity.

What is life like outside of school?
Outside of classes I am heavily involved on campus. I am a member of FarmHouse Fraternity. I serve as the vice president for the Agricultural Economics/Agribusiness Club, and the vice president of the Marketing Team for the National Agri-Marketing Association. I work as an intramural sports staff assistant, and I am a teaching assistant for AECN 201 and AGRO 132.
