Why did you decide to come to UNL?
I chose UNL because it is the perfect distance from home, it has a great food science program and offers great scholarships. UNL is also where all of my family attended college.

What is your favorite thing about UNL?
The people are the best part of UNL. Everyone in CASNR is friendly, helpful and supportive, making East Campus feel like small-town Nebraska.

What is your favorite class you have taken so far and why?
Introduction to Food Science and Technology has been my favorite class thus far. It may not be the class that has challenged me the most, but it is where I discovered my passion for my career and made lifelong friends.

What are your plans following graduation?
I would like to work in food safety and quality assurance for a large food company.

What is your life like outside of school?
During the school year I work in the UNL Food Processing Center's product development lab, and I'm very involved in Food Science Club and the Institute of Food Technologists. I spent last summer in Madisonville, Kentucky, interning with Land O' Frost Lunchmeat, and this summer I've been interning with ConAgra Foods in Troy, Ohio. I always enjoy spending time with friends and family, traveling and baking.
