2020 Block & Bridle Honoree Nominations due Dec. 1

Lincoln, Neb. — The University of Nebraska- Lincoln Block and Bridle Club is seeking nominations for the 86th annual Block and Bridle Honoree. Nominations are encouraged from across the state of Nebraska for an individual who has contributed outstanding leadership and is a vital asset to the Nebraska animal industries.

Since 1938, the Block and Bridle Club has honored industry leaders who have made an outstanding impact on the agricultural community. Nominees must have contributed to Nebraska agriculture through leadership, service, youth projects, community activities and involvement within the industry.

Candidates are nominated by industry leaders and selected by Block and Bridle club officers and advisors. The honoree will be presented with a special gift at the Block and Bridle Club’s Honors Banquet on Friday, April 17, 2020.

The deadline to nominate a Block and Bridle Honoree is Dec. 1, 2019. Nomination materials can be returned to Montana Markus, Block and Bridle Banquet Chair, A103 Animal Science Department, Lincoln, NE 68583-0908. Nominations can also be submitted electronically at unlbandb@gmail.com.

A committee composed of the Block and Bridle Club officers, Advisors, and the Animal Science Department Head will review the nominations and make the selection. The Honoree’s portrait will be permanently displayed in the Animal Science building in the University of Nebraska-Lincoln East Campus along with the portraits of those honored in previous years.
