The City of Lincoln will be doing street repairs on 33rd Street starting this spring and continuing through the summer. The work will include milling, overlaying, and storm drainage improvements on 33rd St. from Holdrege Street to Madison Avenue.
What does this mean for UNL East Campus?
The project will be completed under full roadway closure between Holdrege St. and Madison Ave. Emergency and local access will be maintained at all times. Periodically, all entrances and drives to East Campus from 33rd St. will need to be closed for the milling of the concrete then the new overlay of asphalt. Plan on the 33rd St. entrance to East Campus to be closed for deliveries and any other heavy vehicles for the duration of this project. It would also be advisable for visitors, faculty, and staff to plan on using other entrances to campus for the duration of this project to avoid delays, congestion and other potential hazards on 33rd St. Emergency and local access will be maintained at all times.
Please notify all your clients, vendors and delivery contacts of this street closure. There are alternate routes to East Campus, such as the 38th St. entrance from Huntington/Leighton and Dairy Store Drive from Holdrege St. Semi-tractor/trailers will have the most difficult time turning around should they start down 33rd St. from Cornhusker Highway for deliveries to campus, so take this into consideration when coordinating deliveries.
