Arnold Named Omtvedt Award Recipient

East Campus pillars at enterance

Linda Arnold, administrative assistant for the IANR Vice Chancellor’s office, is a 2014 Omtvedt Innovation Servant Leader Award recipient.

Arnold serves the faculty and staff of IANR in many capacities, always with discretion, confidentiality, good judgment and common sense. Arnold’s talents, strengths and capabilities far exceed the stated responsibilities for her position, and her 26 years of IANR institutional memory have proven extremely valuable to those in her office. For faculty and administrative searches, Arnold’s nominator said she is the “campus ‘go-to person’ who knows the complex and arcane university system well.” Members of groups such as Agriculture Builders of Nebraska and the Nebraska Hall of Agricultural Achievement also rely on Arnold for support, and have a great deal of respect and admiration for her going above and beyond what is required or expected.

Arnold served under former IANR Vice Chancellor Irv Omtvedt, for whom the award is named. She will receive a plaque and cash award during an April 30, 2014, reception.
