The children and dependents of University of Nebraska–Lincoln students, faculty and staff are invited to two Halloween-themed activities on Oct 28.

Student Life's Students with Children is teaming up with the four student councils of Fraternity and Sorority Life to host Little Monster Mash and the Greek Street Trick-or-Treat.

Both events are 5 to 7 p.m. and are free to attend. Minor children must be accompanied by an adult to participate.

Children and adults alike are encouraged to dress in Halloween costumes.

Little Monster Mash

This event may be enjoyed by children ages 2 to 10 years. Meet in The Crib, inside the Nebraska Union, and enjoy a multitude of Halloween-themed indoor hands-on crafts and activities for kids and adults to enjoy doing together, including:

  • cookie decorating
  • coloring sheets and bookmarks
  • pin-the-eye on the monster contest

Greek Street Trick-or-Treat

A perennial campus favorite of the Halloween scene. The route starts outside the Nebraska Union and continues at the chapter houses along R and 16th streets.

Attendees will first stop at the Nebraska Union’s Memorial Plaza to sign in with the Greek Street team and receive additional event details. Eight chapters will have activities on the plaza.

From the plaza, adults can guide their children at their own pace with this map for trick or treating at 10 additional chapter houses along R Street and 16th Street. Nearly 20 fraternity and sorority chapters will offer treats, fun and decorations for the kids to enjoy.
