The University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s Department of Statistics will host a seminar titled “The Metrics” at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 6, in the Swanson Auditorium of the Nebraska Union on City Campus.
The seminar will provide a forum for discussion about the use of metrics by the Executive Leadership Team when justifying proposed budget cuts. Faculty members from the Department of Statistics will examine the data used in developing these metrics, the methods behind their formulation, and the analyses performed.
Organizers encourage faculty, staff, and students to attend. The discussion will address how the metrics impact not only programs proposed for merger or elimination, but also the future evaluation of all programs at UNL.
