The Department of Agricultural Economics is excited to announce the launch of a new video series, Economists Unplugged: Conversations that Inspire and Connect, hosted by Dr. Simanti Banerjee, professor of agricultural economics.

In this engaging new series, Banerjee sits down with economists from many fields, both within and outside academia, to explore their professional journeys and insights into the real-world impact of economics.

The premiere episode features Dr. Jake Smith, who shares a behind-the-scenes look at his work in industrial organization, including:

  • Innovation in the beef industry
  • His latest research initiatives
  • Career experiences and key lessons learned
  • Practical advice for aspiring economists
