Please describe your big idea in a few sentences.

I want to help encourage females and show them the possibilities are endless. My focus is on STEM and helping younger girls (late elementary/middle school) to understand that they are smart and capable of anything! I am so incredibly passionate about this and cannot wait to see how the program I am designing will help women!

What impact do you want to have on the world?

I hope that my "big idea" will bring confidence to girls and not have them shy away from the STEM fields.

How has the Change Maker scholarship and CASNR community helped you discover your passion and grow your skills?

I have always been passionate about female representation, especially in the STEM fields. However, this opportunity has opened my eyes to others' experiences. The CASNR community has been so supportive and I am so grateful!

How has your mentor/mentors shaped your experience thus far?

Personally, I have grown substantially because of my mentor. I have been able to see what a professional relationship looks like, as well as taking constructive criticism and brainstorming. My mentor has also provided many connections throughout the community, which makes a huge difference.

What advice would you have for someone who is not sure if they should apply/if their idea is big enough?

I think if you are passionate about the idea and are determined to make a difference, that is all it takes. People will be able to see that you want to make a change, and no matter how big or small it is, your enthusiasm will shine through! Plus, you will be spending a lot of time on it so it helps if you like it!
