Lincoln, Neb. —The College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln has designated March 9-13 as CASNR Week. The 20th annual event celebrates the successes of all CASNR students faculty, staff and alumni.

The CASNR Week Program Council, a student organization, has planned numerous events during the week to showcase and honor the college. CASNR Week student president, Zilfa Irakoze, is a senior integrated sciences major from Rwanda. She got her start with CASNR Week by volunteering for events as a freshman.

“CASNR Week has been a very nice experience for me that made me really grow professional, grow up mentally and make so many connections that I wouldn’t have made if I wasn’t part of it,” Irakoze said.

CASNR Week kicks off on March 9 with a pancake breakfast beginning at 7:30 a.m. in the Animal Science Commons Area. Following breakfast, The Nebraska East Union Mid-Renovation Open house will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the Nebraska East Union.

A blood drive with the Nebraska Community Blood Bank, free Donuts and Bacon at Ag Hall hosted by the CASNR Coffee Club, “I LOVE NU DAY” and Dairy Store relocation celebration and ice cream social are other events scheduled for the week. CASNR Week will conclude with the CASNR Week Awards Luncheon (invite only) held at the International Quilt Museum.
