Lincoln, Neb. —The Loeffel Meat Shoppe is closing out 2023 with a sale of 25% off your entire purchase of in-stock inventory.
Operating since the 1960s, the Loeffel Meat Shoppe is a USDA-inspected retail store that operates in support of the Loeffel Meat Laboratory in the Department of Animal Science. Sales from the meat shoppe help offset costs associated with academic programs in animal science. Livestock are harvested and processed for sale in the meat shoppe by students in the department.
Students gain experience by learning how to process, package, and sell the products that they process. Students also play a role in developing new products to sell in the shoppe, such as the Jalapeño Popper Bratwurst, a two-time national award winner.
Visit the Loeffel Meat Shoppe on its last two sales days of the year, December 8 and December 15, to shop from its selection of beef, pork, lamb, goat, smoked and slicing sausages, brats, naturally cased weiners, multiple varieties of ready-to-eat snack sticks, and eggs by the dozen. Shoppers will receive a 25% discount off their total purchase of all in-stock products.
Meat products are sold frozen except for cooked sausage links and bacon. All prices are determined based on the item weight and price per pound. Roasts are approximately 4-5 pounds.
The meat shoppe also offers gift cards for purchase in $10 increments that are valid for one year from date of purchase. Gift cards are excluded from the 25% sale and must be purchased separately.
The sales room is located at the corner of 38th and Fair St., in the Animal Science Complex on the University of Nebraska-Lincoln's East Campus and is open on Fridays from 11:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Visa, Mastercard, and Discover cards are all accepted, in addition to cash or check.
