Faculty Spotlight: David Lambe

David Lambe

What is your position at the University of Nebraska?

I am an Associate Professor of Practice in the Department of Agronomy and Horticulture, and Chief Learning Officer in the Engler Agribusiness Entrepreneurship Program. My position is to teach the process of entrepreneurship to students to help them find their purpose in their current or future careers.

What drew you to the University of Nebraska?

What continues to draw me to the University of Nebraska is the opportunity to work with students, they are the most important resource we have in the state.

What aspect of working in an educational setting do you enjoy the most?

The most rewarding aspect of working here is the light bulb moments, when students discover something about themselves or their realities that impact their lives.

What do you consider your greatest achievement?

My greatest achievements are the businesses that have been launched by our students and our alums that have positively impacted Nebraska's economy, which wouldn't have happened without the foresight of Paul Engler and his willingness to invest in the students here at UNL.

What is your life like outside of work?

Most people are unaware that I am a grandfather to 14 grandchildren.  We are together most weekends and are a very close family.
