  • Live in Seward currently with husband, Matt, and two daughters, Lilly (7) and Anna (4)
  • 3-time graduate of UNL in secondary math education (B.S.), leadership education (M.S.), and education administration (Ph.D.) 

What is your position at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln?

Clifton Professor in Mentoring Research and Director, Nebraska Human Resources Institute

 

What drew you to the University of Nebraska? 

I love the overt commitment to creating transformational experiences for students here.

 

What aspect of working in an educational setting do you enjoy the most?

The opportunity to invest in students!  I love being part of their growth and development in college.

 

What do you consider your greatest achievement?

Raising two great kids with my favorite teammate (Matt) and landing a career where I get to work with exceptional student leaders and do interesting research on leadership every day.

 

What is something that most people don't know about you? 

I won a spelling bee in the 4th grade

 

What is your life like outside of work?

I raise and train Quarter Horses with my dad. I love to run with my dog, Izzy, and I enjoy making homemade pies. I also love going on nature walks with my girls, and enjoy fishing with my husband.

A day in the life usually involves some combination of… Trying to convince Lilly and Anna to get out of bed… Jogging with my dog, Izzy…Riding 2 Quarter Horse mares, Sweetness and Little Bit…Groceries…Laundry…Cleaning kid toothpaste out of the sink…Having fun conversations with Matt…Helping Lilly with math homework…Cooking meals…Reading books with Lilly and Anna…Trying to convince Lilly and Anna to go to bed…
