About Tai

I am a father, son and creator. I have a passion for helping others because of all of the caring people in my life who helped me become the man I am today. Lincoln has been my hometown since I was 6 years old. This city has provided so much opportunity for me. I love being in a position to give back.

What is your position at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln?

I am the undergraduate recruiter for the Department of Agronomy and Horticulture.

What drew you to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln?

The ability to give back to my community is what drew me to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. My current platform enables me to connect with people on a daily basis to introduce them to plants, soils and landscape systems.

What aspect of working in an educational setting do you enjoy the most?

Higher education has helped me greatly achieve goals that I never thought were possible. It brings me great joy to show people all the career pathways offered to them by simply being a part of the Department of Agronomy and Horticulture.

What do you consider your greatest achievement?

My greatest achievement has yet to be fulfilled. I have the ambition to be a public servant that is a voice for my entire community.

What is something that most people don’t know about you?

Most people don’t know that I ran to be on the board of directors for the Lincoln Airport Authority in 2015. I got 15% of the city-wide vote. It was a really exciting time for 23-year-old me.

What is your life like outside of work?

Outside of work, I love to run and fly my drone, taking pictures of beautiful streetscapes. When I am not doing those two things I am trying to buy and sell the Pleasant way as a local realtor.
