Anticipated Date of Graduation: August 2016

Why did you decide to do your graduate studies at UNL?
I was searching for a program with a strong emphasis on economics in the beef industry, in particular U.S. export potential of beef cattle for genetic purposes. After visiting with some faculty members from the department, I realized that they were very interested in the topic, but also in me as a potential student. The personal approach and interest in my career is what attracted me to the program the most.

What is your favorite thing about UNL?
Many favorite things. The university provides a variety of resources and access to all things students need to be successful as any other large university does, but at the same time most faculty still try to provide a more individual-based approach to teaching-learning and get to know their students.

What is your favorite class you have taken so far and why?
Family Business with Tom Field

What are your plans post-graduation?
Explore career opportunities in the industry first, but teaching is my passion and reason for pursuing a Ph.D.

What’s life like outside of school?
I love Lincoln, it's a great place to live. A great mix of diversity and a feeling of a welcoming small town.
