Hejny celebrates 17 years with Nebraska LEAD Program

Lincoln, Neb. —After more than 17 years of dedicated service, Dr. Terry Hejny, Director of the Nebraska LEAD Program, will retire in June 2024, leaving behind a legacy of excellence and impact in agricultural leadership development.

Dr. Hejny's tenure as the director of the Nebraska LEAD Program, which began in September 2007, has been marked by a steadfast commitment to cultivating knowledgeable, prepared, and passionate leaders within Nebraska's agriculture industry. Under his leadership, the LEAD Program has flourished, nurturing leaders who have made significant contributions to agriculture, civic life, and governmental service.

To celebrate Dr. Hejny's outstanding leadership and contributions, a special retirement celebration will be held on Thursday, May 9, 2024, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at the East Campus Union, 3rd Floor - Prairie Suite. The event will feature light snacks, cake, and an opportunity for friends, colleagues, and LEAD participants to express their gratitude and share fond memories.

Dr. Hejny's impact on Nebraska agriculture and leadership development will be felt for years to come, as LEAD alumni continue to make significant contributions to the industry and beyond.
