Lincoln, Neb. —The inaugural Data Driven: A Statistics and Data Science Field Day event was held on March 16, 2024, at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln campus. This innovative event brought high school students from around the state together to engage in themed events in the exciting world of data science and statistics to test their skills and knowledge in a series of engaging challenges.
After a day filled with spirited competition and collaboration, the winning teams emerged, showcasing their prowess in data analysis, critical thinking, and teamwork. Each team demonstrated remarkable talent and dedication, embodying the spirit of "Data Driven" in every aspect of the competition. First and second place teams earned a total of $2000 in scholarships to UNL’s College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources (CASNR).

First Place: Scottsbluff High School
Second Place: What are our odds? (Lincoln, NE)
Third Place: Elkhorn South High School

While on campus, Data Driven participants also toured the University of Nebraska-Lincoln East Campus and learned about future careers in statistics and data science.
