Lincoln, Neb. — The Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources (IANR) at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln has announced the reappointment of John Carroll as director of the School of Natural Resources (SNR) for a five-year term.
The action comes following a planned five-year review of the leader. Carroll also holds the rank of professor in SNR. He has been in his current position at Nebraska since 2013.
“John has fostered an environment of positive morale, confidence and trust within the School of Natural Resources, which has strengthened the school’s ability to deliver high impact programming,” said Ron Yoder, Senior Associate Vice Chancellor for IANR.
Building strong relationships within and outside of SNR has been a priority for Carroll. He has helped establish new collaborations for faculty in other departments across the university, which has led to greater visibility of the School’s work, and he’s expanded professional development opportunities for SNR faculty and staff. Carroll also has worked to position the school as a forward-thinking partner with internal, national and international researchers, while at the same time helping support new student programs in natural resources education.
The School of Natural Resources strives to be an international leader in natural resources education, research and outreach, and to be the primary provider of natural resources information to the citizens of Nebraska. To learn more, visit http://snr.unl.edu/.
