Lincoln, Neb. — Rochester Midland Corporation, a leader in specialty chemical manufacturing, has joined the Alliance for Advanced Sanitation.
Launched by the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and founding industry partners in 2015, the alliance works to improve sanitation approaches and practices with and for the food industry.
Rochester Midland is a family-owned business that started in 1888. The company is a leading global provider of sustainable commercial cleaning sanitation and hygiene solutions for facility maintenance, water treatment and food sanitation, among other things.
"Rochester Midland brings to the table a host of fresh ideas and a strong knowledge base in chemistry," said Angela Anandappa, director of the alliance. "We find that collaboration is key to our ability to succeed in sanitation."
Through the BrandGuard program, Rochester Midland partners with food manufacturing plants that are looking for a quality sanitation program focused on innovative chemical cleaning options, process improvements, training, technical support, sustainable programs and safety.
"As a member of the Alliance for Advanced Sanitation, we look forward to being a part of a network of companies that have a vested interest in keeping the food supply chain safe," said Charles Giambrone, vice president of technical services for Rochester Midland.
The Alliance for Advanced Sanitation is based in the Food Innovation Center at Nebraska Innovation Campus. Alliance activities are focused on all manners of food safety hazards, including microbial pathogens, allergens, toxic chemicals and water conservation in sanitation operations.
