Lincoln, Neb. —Roger Wilson, farm management budget analyst in the Department of Agricultural Economics has been named the recipient of IANR’s 2016 First Quarter Outstanding Employee Award.
Wilson develops enterprise budgets for traditional and non-traditional commodities. These budgets have a wide distribution and are used by producers, bankers, researchers and academic instructors. He has co-authored three journal articles, two research bulletins and seven Nebraska Beef Cattle Reports.
Wilson has used his expertise to contribute to the department’s mission in various ways. In recent years he has taken a major role in educating students, producers and others. He volunteered to take a major role in the Marketing In A New Era extension program and made several trips across the state assisting in training and programing for meetings with producers.
“Roger is very gracious, humble and passionate about providing tools that will help farmers make the best decisions for their farming operations,” Wilson’s supporters wrote. “His passion and innovation impacts many farmers in the state of Nebraska and beyond.”
Wilson will receive a cash award, a certificate and lapel pin.
