Lincoln, Neb. —
What is your position at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln?
I am the Undergraduate Admissions Coordinator and Academic Advisor in the Department of Animal Science.
What drew you to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln?
I’m a CASNR Agribusiness alum and absolutely loved my time on campus as a student. When this job became open it was a no-brainer for me to come back and have the opportunity to share this great university with students looking forward to starting the next chapter.
What aspect of working in an educational setting do you enjoy the most?
My job is so fun because I get to build relationships with students while I’m recruiting them to come to UNL but also get to play a small part in their successes as their academic advisor after they officially become students.
What do you consider your greatest achievement?
I have three. Their names are Clara who is 7, Hugh who will be 5 in June and Lydia who will be 3 in July.
What is something that most people don’t know about you?
I was lucky enough to travel to England, France, and Spain when I was a freshman in high school. When we visited the Eiffel Tower and got to go to the top, a young man approached me, got down on one knee and proposed to me. It was obvious that it was a dare he had taken from his friends, and I was quite embarrassed. My mom, sister and I laughed about it, and I can say I was proposed to on the top of the Eiffel Tower!
What is your life like outside of work?
My life outside of work revolves around my family. We stay busy going to swimming and piano lessons, fishing, swimming, playing at the farm, finding new parks in Lincoln to play in and hanging out with family and friends. I enjoy reading (if I can stay awake long enough to do it), baking and watching my kids learn, grow and experience new things!
