About Jaclyn Lorimer
I am a 2012 government legal studies graduate of Evangel University who has lived in Lincoln for close to five years with my husband, and i'm expecting our first child. My hometown is Fort Madison, Iowa, where I grew up with my parents and younger sister.

What is your position at the University of Nebraska—Lincoln?
Office associate in the Department of Agricultural Leadership, Education & Communication. I’ve been in this position since March 2016.

What drew you to the University of Nebraska—Lincoln?
I was drawn to my position at UNL due to the opportunity to work as Dr.Mark Balschweid’s executive assistant. Knowing Dr. Balschweid outside of UNL and knowing his character, I was interested in working with him in a professional context and have been enjoying working under his leadership.

What aspect of working in an educational setting do you enjoy the most?
The thing I enjoy the most about working in an educational setting is the opportunity to learn new things from a diverse group of people, including faculty, students and guest speakers. No two days are exactly the same.

What do you consider your greatest achievement?
From a career perspective, I think my greatest achievement was helping my previous company double in size in the two years that I managed the business.

What is something that most people don’t know about you?
I don’t eat pizza or potatoes, which my husband thinks is un-American of me. But other than that, I will try almost anything!

What is your life like outside of work?
Outside of work, I spend time with friends and family, and am an active volunteer at Christ Place Church. My husband and I enjoy movie trivia, visiting the zoo and travel.
