About Jennifer

I am a native Nebraskan and grew up in the small town of Adams, Nebraska.

What is your position at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln?

I am an administrative associate in the School of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences.

What drew you to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln?

Originally, it was the benefits of working at the university but soon after joining the university it became the people at the university. The students, staff and faculty. I have been very fortunate to work with individuals who have been a mentor to me and challenged me. Our daughter graduated from the University of Nebraska-Kearney and is currently a student at UNMC, the staff at each of those institutions have been just as helpful and kind to her as a student as they have been to me as a colleague at the university. The experience has reinforced the impact we get to have with students.

What aspect of working in an educational setting do you enjoy the most?

The teaching and research environment, I enjoy seeing and learning about the work being done at the university.

What do you consider your greatest achievement?

Our kids, we are very proud of them and truly enjoy watching and supporting them in their activities and goals.

What is something that most people don't know about you?

This is a hard one – nothing! I feel I am an open book.

What is your life like outside of work?

Outside of work, I am busy with my family and their activities. We can typically be found watching baseball, tennis or volleyball. When I am not cheering on our kids I enjoy going on walks, going to watch our kids’ friends in their activities, going to Husker sporting events and when we do find ourselves at home, I enjoy reading. As we find a little time on our hands (our youngest turns 16 in June – after 23 years the family taxi service is coming to an end), I have started to enjoy some DIY projects.
