What is your position at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln?

Farm Research Manager, I manage the Havelock Research Farm as well as the East Campus research areas.

What drew you to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln?

I was born and raised in Northeast Nebraska, it’s in my blood. I earned both my master’s and doctorate here and wanted to work somewhere that I could use my knowledge to help Nebraska agriculture.

What aspect of working in an educational setting do you enjoy the most?

I enjoy everyone’s enthusiasm for progress. The constant thought process of making farming more sustainable. Meeting new people from around the world with different perspectives on life and farming. The opportunity to learn from the research being conducted and the chance to help students with their research.

What do you consider your greatest achievement?

I have had to struggle with a lot of adversity to get to this point in my life and career. I believe the fact that I am able to live my life to its fullest every single day is my greatest achievement.

What is something that most people don't know about you?

I think most people don’t realize that I have a Ph.D. in Entomology.

What is your life like outside of work?

I would love to say it’s an ongoing adventure, but outside of work I am a Mom, runner, gardener and avid reader. I have two boys that are active in both high school and Legion baseball so I very much watching them play and coach and can be found at a field most nights during the spring and summer.
