About Kaitlyn:

I was born and raised in Lincoln, Neb. and got my bachelor of science from UNK in 2016. However, I studied and spent a lot of time in Europe, particularly in France, so France feels like a second home to me now. I speak French and welcome any and every opportunity to keep my skills polished! I love dogs, photography, design, yoga, cooking/baking and travel. I started a blog in November 2017 called bonjour.kaitlyn where I get to put my creative muscles to work. I blog and make YouTube videos about beauty, travel, lifestyle, food, and style and have been loving it!

What is your position at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln?

I am an office associate by title, but half my time is spent  being an executive assistant for Mark Balschweid, and the other half being an administrative assistant for the ALEC department.

What drew you to the University of Nebraska–Lincoln?

Being from Lincoln, I always knew that UNL was a great workplace and am happy to join this community!

What aspect of working in an educational setting do you enjoy the most?

I love seeing the potential in all the students around me as they forge their paths. Also, being a city girl, it’s great to learn things about agriculture that I wouldn’t normally learn from all the faculty and staff around me.

What do you consider your greatest achievement?

I would have to say starting my blog. It was a long time coming and I put a lot of myself into it. It was so exciting when I finally launched my site!

What is something that most people don't know about you?

Most people don’t know that I’m allergic to avocados. So, no avocado toast for me.

What is your life like outside of work?

Outside of work I spend time on my hobbies and with family/friends. Blogging takes up a lot of time so you can usually find me taking photos or video, or editing something on my computer. I really like to cook in my free time and I’m a TV show addict – I love watching through a whole season or series on Netflix or Hulu.
