About Kaitlyn:

I graduated from the University of Nebraska at Kearney in 2016. During my time there I studied abroad twice, once in the Czech Republic and once in France, which allowed me to become fluent in French. While I still love learning new cultures and languages, I’m very happy to be back in Nebraska – reconnecting to my roots and rediscovering my home state!

What is your position at the University of Nebraska—Lincoln?

Administrative associate in the Agricultural Research Division dean's office

What drew you to the University of Nebraska—Lincoln?

I wanted to stay in the Midwest and since I had previously held a position with the Agricultural Leadership, Education, and Communications Department, I knew the university is a great place to work.

What aspect of working in an educational setting do you enjoy the most?

I like that we are always on the edge of innovation – it keeps things interesting and exciting!

What do you consider your greatest achievement?

Becoming fluent in French. I was so proud when I was speaking with a woman at a local market and she said to me, “…mais en faite, vous etes courant!” (but in fact, you are fluent!)

What is something that most people don't know about you?

I do photography outside of work and love to take portraits and I also have a blog where I like to post my favorite recipes and a few other random tidbits (shameless plug: bonjourkaitlyn.com).

What is your life like outside of work?

I love to cook and bake and often test out new recipes on my family and friends. I also enjoy practicing yoga, trying new restaurants, traveling, and photography.
