What is your position at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln?

I am the graduate program specialist in the Department of Biological Systems Engineering on East Campus.

What drew you to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln?

I started out here at the University of Nebraska Press and loved it, but when I saw the opening for my current position and met my colleagues in my interview, I just knew I had to work here. My mom has worked at UNL for most of my life, so I knew about the great relationships and benefits here.

What aspect of working in an educational setting do you enjoy the most?

It’s very fulfilling to feel like I’m making a difference and helping someone. I love the thought of even being a small part of a student’s journey who goes on to do amazing things.

What do you consider your greatest achievement?

My greatest achievement would probably be locking down my husband, who is way out of my league. Professionally, my greatest achievement would be that I walked into this position when it had been open for a while and they really needed someone to come in and bring some order to work. I’m still working on it, but I’m proud of myself for the work I’ve done so far.

What is something that most people don't know about you?

I can sing along to a song after only hearing it once.

What is your life like outside of work?

I definitely spend too much time watching TikTok, but I also really enjoy being outside hiking and biking. I love to spend time with my husband and 3 cats.
