March 27, 2023

Hometown: Auburn, NE

Major: Forensic Science with a minor in Chemistry

Anticipated Date of Graduation: May 2023

Why did you decide to come to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln?

I decided to come to UNL because of the opportunities I knew I would get from the Forensic Science program, such as the crime scene house that allows students to get hands-on experience.

What is your favorite thing about the University of Nebraska-Lincoln?

My favorite thing about UNL is East Campus because I love that it has a small town, agriculture feel. The library on East Campus is one of my favorite places to study!

What about diversity and inclusion is important to you when you think about your CASNR experience?

Diversity and inclusion in my CASNR experience is important to me because it has taught me great communication, teamwork, and leadership skills.

Exposure to cultural differences is a huge part of college. What activity have you recently participated in that is different from what you are used to in your culture? This could be something you read, listened to, watched, eaten or otherwise taken part in. What did you learn from this activity?

Recently when I was in California, I explored a small farmers' market where there were many different ethnic cuisines to try. It was very cool to get to see all of the different foods and watch how they were being made.

What is your favorite class you have taken so far and why?

My favorite class that I have taken so far is FORS 200, because we got to hear from a different speaker each week, and they were from all different career areas. It really helped me narrow down my focus in Forensic Science.

What are your plans post-graduation?

My plan after graduation is to get a job working in a laboratory to gain more analytical experience, and I would also like to complete some higher education, but I am unsure what that will be yet.

What's life like outside of school?

Outside of school I love to enjoy sports and spend time with my family and friends.

What scholarships, if any, have you received?

I received the Regents scholarship, and I am also part of the University Honors Program.
