Hometown: Ashland, Nebraska
Major: Agronomy
Anticipated Date of Graduation: May 2016
Why did you decide to come to UNL? When I came on a college visit in high school, everyone genuinely cared about me and wanted to do anything they could to make sure that I could succeed when I got here.
What is your favorite thing about UNL? I love the sense of community. Despite the number of students, UNL really does have a small town feel, especially on East Campus.
What is your favorite class you have taken so far and why? My favorite class was definitely botany. Plants are so neat! It's fascinating how tiny little cells can have so much going on inside them and come together to be incredibly important organisms.
What are your plans post-graduation? I can definitely see myself working with some sort of agricultural technology to improve efficiencies of current agricultural products and equipment.
What's life like outside of school? Busy! I've had the chance to become involved with awesome organizations like the Nebraska Agricultural Youth Council, CASNR Ambassadors, Ag Sack Lunch Program, Agronomy Club, and TeamMates. I've also had some very educational internship experiences, including USDA Agricultural Research Service, the Nebraska Wheat Board, CPI and Monsanto. In my free time, I enjoy hanging out with the people that make CASNR so great!
