Why did you decide to come to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln?

It has always been a dream of mine to be a Husker and I was looking for a good agricultural science college.

What is your favorite thing about University of Nebraska-Lincoln?

My favorite thing about UNL is East Campus because it is beautiful, and it is where I have spent the majority of my time.

How has diversity and inclusive excellence played a role in your CASNR experience?

Since I did not come from a farm or ranch background, I was nervous that it would hinder my experience at UNL, but it definitely did not. It has been encouraging to make friends who come from a similar background as me and who also want to pursue a career in agriculture.

What is your favorite class you have taken so far and why?

My favorite class would be ASCI 200, animal & carcass evaluation, because I really enjoyed learning how to evaluate the live animals and then see how that correlates to the carcass quality.

What are your plans post-graduation?

I have accepted a full-time position as a Broiler Service Technician with Lincoln Premium Poultry.

What’s life like outside of school?

Very busy, I have been planning my wedding for the past year. In addition, I have always worked full-time in the summers while taking summer classes, and part-time during the school semesters with a full-time class schedule.
