Why did you decide to come to the University of Nebraska–Lincoln?

When I was looking to expand my education, all I knew was that I wanted to stay within the agricultural industry. I looked at a couple tech schools and smaller colleges to specify with less people, but events like Cornhusker Boys State and the Nebraska Agricultural Youth Institute made me fall in love with Nebraska and East Campus. After these events and talking with faculty and staff within CASNR, my decision to attend the University of Nebraska–Lincoln became easy.

What is your favorite thing about the University of Nebraska–Lincoln?

My favorite thing about the University of Nebraska–Lincoln are all of the ways to get involved on campus. In my time here at Nebraska, I have loved giving tours of East Campus as a CASNR Ambassador and meeting many new people through my fraternity, Alpha Gamma Sigma.

How has diversity and inclusive excellence played a role in your CASNR experience?

Growing up in a town of 200 people, the university has been kind of a culture shock to me in several ways. But through the various course work I’ve taken and mentoring I have gained, I have really diversified my portfolio to be able to relate and communicate with many more people than those I grew up with.

What is your favorite class you have taken so far, and why?

My favorite class so far has been FINA 260, Personal Finance. I really liked this class because of its applicable purpose and real-world lessons. I hope to use the lessons I learned to be financially stable after graduation.

What are your plans, post-graduation?

Starting in June, I will begin my position as an Associate Territory Manager with Corteva Agriscience. I gained this opportunity by interning with the in the summer of 2019 and am excited to see where it takes my career and me!

What’s life like outside of school?

Outside of class, you can find me playing basketball at the rec center, hanging out in my fraternity, Alpha Gamma Sigma, or going to any country concert in downtown Lincoln!
