Why did you decide to come to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln?

I decided to come to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln because I grew up going to Husker football games and had always dreamed of being a student here. After looking into CASNR and all the major options I knew that the University of Nebraska was the perfect fit for me!

What is your favorite thing about University of Nebraska-Lincoln?

My favorite thing about the University of Nebraska-Lincoln is that it is truly a second home for me. All of my professors and the students and staff here are welcoming and truly care about your college experience!

How has diversity and inclusive excellence played a role in your CASNR experience?

Diversity and inclusive excellence have played a role in my CASNR experience by allowing me to experience the many amazing cultures of the world. Growing up in a small town, I didn’t have the chance to meet and learn about people from other cultures like I do through CASNR. It is an amazing and eye-opening experience to hear the stories and thoughts of those from all cultures and I love that CASNR is able to give every student the chance to share their story.

What is your favorite class you have taken so far and why?

My favorite class that I have taken so far is ASCI 200: Carcass Evaluation. This has been my favorite course because it does an amazing job of teaching you how your food gets from the farm to your table, as well as what to look for in a market ready animal.

What are your plans post-graduation?

I plan to continue my education by getting a master’s degree in ruminant nutrition or animal breeding and genetics.

What’s life like outside of school?

Outside of school my time is either spent with family and friends, participating in club activities, or at my internship with MatMaCorp here in Lincoln.
