Why did you decide to come to UNL?

I was looking for an agricultural engineering program where I was more than just a number, and found that here at UNL. The program size was small enough that I could build quality relationships with my instructors and the program fit many of my learning goals. Working and learning at the Nebraska Tractor Test Lab was also a rare opportunity that I had to enhance my educational experience even further.

What is your favorite thing about UNL?

The people are my favorite thing. Over the last four years I have met and became friends with some amazing people. All of the faculty and staff here in IANR are always amazing to work with. I have met some life-long friends here that I will keep in touch with for the rest of my life.

What is your favorite class you have taken so far and why?

I really enjoyed AGEN 470 Senior Design. It was a class where I was able to take all of the concepts and theories that I had learned in other classes and apply them to a real-world design project. I am also currently in ENTR 322 Family Business Management. It is a very interesting class on family business dynamics and could possibly be my favorite by the end of the semester.

What are your plans post-graduation?

I have accepted a full time job with Cargill in their AG Horizons business unit. I will take a position as a production supervisor trainee at their Holdrege grain facility this coming June. I also plan on working on and growing our family farming operation at home.

What's life like outside of school?

It has been very busy. Throughout college I have been very involved on campus. I have worked at the Nebraska Tractor Test Lab part time all four years. I am currently one of the captains on the Quarter Scale Tractor Team, which I have been involved in since I was a freshman. I am a member of the Alpha Gamma Rho Fraternity and active in other clubs on campus as well. Lastly, I have had the opportunity to be a teaching assistant for the Morrill Scholars Class, which I have throughly enjoyed.
