Hometown: Fremont, Neb.

Major: Food Science and Technology

Anticipated Date of Graduation: May 2017

Why did you decide to come to the University of Nebraska? It was close to home, but offered so many cool opportunities. I also liked the close community in the residence halls and the food science department.

What is your favorite thing about the University of Nebraska? Football Saturdays and being a part of the Cornhusker Marching Band!

What is your favorite class you have taken so far and why?  FDST 455: Microbiology of Fermented Foods. We got to go on tours to local manufacturers of fermented foods like sausage, beer, bread and cheese.

What are your plans post-graduation? I have an internship this summer with Cargill Meat Solutions, then I will be attending graduate school.

What's life like outside of school? I study a lot, but when I am free I enjoy going home and seeing my two cocker spaniels. On campus, I am busy being a resident assistant in Neihardt Hall, an officer in the Food Science Club, an ambassador for the Departmentof  Food Science and Technology and a rank leader in the Cornhusker Marching Band.
