Daniel Trotter has been named the new facilities director for the University of Nebraska-Lincoln's Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources. His appointment took effect on Nov. 1.

Lincoln, Neb. —Daniel Trotter has been named the new facilities director for the University of Nebraska-Lincoln's Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources. His appointment took effect on Nov. 1.

As facilities director, Trotter oversees the use and maintenance of existing facilities, as well as the construction of new facilities, across East Campus; research, extension and education centers and other IANR sites.

Prior to his appointment as facilities manager, Trotter spent a year serving in the interim facilities director role after the retirement of previous director Barry Shull. Prior to that, Trotter worked as the constructor project manager in the IANR vice chancellor’s office for seven years, and spent two years before that as a student worker in the office. Trotter has a bachelor’s of science in construction project management and a masters’ of engineering management, both from UNL.

 “With this position, I am looking forward to representing IANR and helping East Campus and our outstate research facilities continue to grow,” Trotter said. “I love being a part of IANR and indirectly involved with agriculture and want to do everything I can to keep IANR at the forefront teaching, learning, research and extension across the fields of agriculture and natural resources.
