The University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s HealthierU program is helping connect university employees with fresh, locally sourced food through a partnership with Robinette Farms and the 2026 Mayor’s Local Food Challenge.

Annalisa Davenport, HealthierU associate director, and Chloe Diegel from Robinette Farms, will host a webinar about the program at 2 p.m. May 28. During this 45-minute webinar, Davenport and Diegel will discuss a brief history of Robinette Farm's local produce box programs, how the program works and how to navigate the site and register for the subscription. Registration for the webinar and the subscription link for the program can be found on the HealthierU webpage.

The City Campus Recreation Center will serve as an official pickup location for Robinette Farms’ local food subscription boxes, giving faculty and staff convenient access to locally grown produce, meats, dairy products, baked goods and other Nebraska-made foods. The program officially kicks off on May 29, with the first box pick-up occurring 3-5 p.m. June 4.

The subscription program does not require a membership fee, though orders require a $35 minimum purchase. Weekly orders can be customized, skipped or adjusted based on participant preferences and schedules.

Robinette Farms, a Nebraska-based family farm, partners with more than 30 local farmers and artisans to provide customizable weekly food boxes focused on supporting healthy eating and strengthening the local food system. Subscription members can personalize their weekly orders with items ranging from organic greens and vegetables to breads, coffees, meats and pantry staples.

HealthierU’s involvement is part of a broader initiative to support employee well-being while also encouraging community engagement and sustainable food access. According to program information shared by HealthierU, the partnership aims to make fresh, local foods more accessible to university employees while supporting Nebraska growers and producers.
