Neresian retirement reception is June 6

Nersesian

A retirement reception for Natalya Nersesian, research technologist in the Department of Agronomy and Horticulture, is 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 6 in the George W. Beadle Center, Room E228. 

Nersesian received her undergraduate training at Ivan Franko National University of Lviv in Ukraine in 1977. She immigrated to the United States in February 1992. In 1994, she began volunteering in the School of Biological Sciences' research laboratories of emeriti faculty Tom Elthon and Paul Blum. 

Nersesian joined the Center of Biotechnology as a research technologist in fall 1995, conducting research in the Flow Cytometry and Protein Core Research Facilities until spring 2000. She then joined the research program of Sally Mackenzie, former university professor, and Ismail Dweikat, agronomy and horticulture professor, within the Department of Agronomy and Horticulture. 

Nersesian has served as a research technologist within the Plant Transformation Core Research Facility, playing key roles in the success of the biotechnology research programs around the major commodities soybean, maize, wheat and sorghum.
