Rhema Meggett joins IANR's Communication Team

Rhema Meggett, a senior majoring in agricultural and environmental sciences communications, is a new intern for the Institute of Agricultural Natural Resources (IANR) on the communications team.

As Meggett comes to the end of her undergraduate career, she is excited to be able to work on the IANR communications team and figure out what her next steps will be post-graduation. She will be working on student and faculty spotlights for the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources (CASNR), creating social media posts, and other communications tasks.

“I think working on a team of communicators will be really impactful for me as I consider my next steps post-graduation,” Meggett said. “I’ve had a few communications jobs, but this will give me new perspective of working on a team for a larger organization.”

CASNR is really important to Meggett, who has been a CASNR ambassador for the past two years. She is very enthusiastic about higher education and helping connect students to the path that is meant for them.

“I love getting to work with students and their families as they navigate college,” Meggett said. "It’s so rewarding to be able to advocate for the students and get to show off UNL at the same time. I’m proud to be able to show people what the university has to offer.”

In addition to these jobs, Meggett is the primary media and event coordinator  as well as grant writer for J&J Martin Farm Produce, her family’s farm in North Carolina she hopes to help maintain in the years after her graduation.
