Lincoln, Neb. —The Backyard Farmer panel will hold a Q&A session with a live audience Sept. 1 beginning at 5 p.m. in the Backyard Farmer Garden on the UNiversity of Nebraska-Lincoln East Campus. The session will last for about 45 minutes before the filming of the Backyard Farmer season finale. Chairs will be available for the live audience.
Backyard Farmer is a co-production between Nebraska Public Media and Nebraska Extension. The longest-running, locally produced, non-syndicated television series in the nation, “Backyard Farmer” is celebrating its 69th season and first airs Thursdays on Nebraska Public Media with rebroadcasts on Nebraska Public Media Create.
Backyard Farmer helps the public find solutions to many lawn and garden questions. Every year from spring to fall, host Kim Todd, Nebraska Extension landscape horticulture specialist, and a panel of Nebraska Extension experts help viewers answer questions about insect pests and disease, turf, weeds, fruit and vegetables, critters, landscape design and general horticulture topics.
The Backyard Farmer panel for this final episode will include Jeff Culbertson, the University of Nebraska–Lincoln director of landscape operations; Kyle Broderick, assistant extension educator in plant pathology; Dennis Ferraro, professor of practice in natural resources; and Kyle Koch, extension educator in entomology.
Free parking will be available for the public in a lot west of Mussehl Hall near 1915 N. 38th Street on East Campus — a short walk to the Backyard Farmer Garden.
