Please describe your big idea in a few sentences.

My Change Maker idea is aiming to diversify the outdoor community and allow it to be accessible to all through storytelling and inclusion. I want to make a difference in the outdoors and the world by hearing other people’s stories and experiences. It can make a huge impact.

What impact do you want to have on the world?

The impact I want to have on the world is to make it as inclusive and welcoming as possible. I want people to not be afraid to do new things because they may feel like they don’t belong in the community. By storytelling and having these experiences, it will be impactful for those getting out to do something new and finding a place here.

How has the Change Maker scholarship and CASNR community helped your discover your passion and grow your skills?

The Change Maker scholarship and CASNR community helped me discovery my passion and grow my skills by being able to share and listen to people’s ideas and stories to become inspired by what we want to do and what we can achieve together.

How has your mentor/mentors shaped your experience thus far?

My mentors have shaped my experiences thus far by always supporting and continuing to give inspiring ideas.

What advice would you have for someone who is not sure if they should apply/if their idea if big enough?

The one piece of advice I would give to someone who is not sure if they should apply or if their idea is big enough is that anyone can have an idea to make a difference in the world, no matter how big or small, and if it is something you truly desire, putting yourself out there and acting is making a difference in itself.
