About Tayler

I was raised in Bennington, Nebraska, and am the oldest of nine children. My husband and I are “high school sweethearts” and now live on an acreage with our son, Kane, just outside of Bennington. We are just minutes from a handful of family members.

What is your position at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln?

I am a 4-H Youth Development Extension Educator with Nebraska Extension, serving both Cuming and Washington Counties.

What drew you to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln?

“Coming back” to the university was not my plan after graduating with my bachelor’s in fine arts in 2014. After making connections post-graduation with the help of my internship with the Nebraska 4-H Foundation during college, I learned about Nebraska Extension and the career opportunities that were available for me. Nebraska is a champion in serving its people, and I’m proud to be a part of that work.

What aspect of working in an education setting do you enjoy the most?

The biggest thing I love about working in 4-H Youth Development and Extension education programming is the ability to meet individuals where they are at and work with them to enhance their lives and the world around them.

What do you consider your greatest achievement?

I’ve recently just returned to my home 4-H county, where I was a 4-H’er, as the 4-H Extension Educator, leading the local 4-H program. Being able to return to Washington County and now serve individuals in the ways that I was served is a cool “full-circle” achievement moment.

What is something most people don’t know about you?

I’m a worship leader in my church’s contemporary praise band!

What is your life like outside of work?

My life outside of work is filled with passion projects and community service. I teach dance at a local studio, am a Teammate mentor for a local high school student and participate as a board member for our annual community celebration event.
