LINCOLN, Neb. — "Right in My Own Backyard: A Celebration of Nebraska's Natural Wonders" Oct. 5 will give participants a chance to experience the beauty of Fontenelle Forest in Bellevue.

The event is from 5-8 p.m. at the forest, 1111 Bellevue Blvd. North.

Attendees will explore the outdoors along the scenic Fontenelle Forest boardwalk as Master Naturalists point out raptors, frogs, plants, birds and more. The tour will offer a sample of what Nebraska has to offer and give participants an idea of the opportunities in their own backyards. The tour will include the Green Revolution exhibit, on display inside the Fontenelle Forest Nature Center.

"We're going to pack more nature into one beautiful and enjoyable place than you can imagine. Want to get the kids away from the PlayStation and texting for a while?" said Annabel Lee Major, Nebraska Master Naturalist program coordinator. "Here's your chance."

This event is outdoors, rain or shine. For adults, registration fees are $15. Children ages 12 and under attend free. All registration fees support Nebraska Master Naturalist volunteers.
